Flow Chart of Man-made Fiber Production

Man-made fiber:
Man-made fibers are produced by combining polymers or small molecules. It is created from natural materials or by chemical processes. Man-made fibres account for 70% of all fibres produced worldwide. Man made fibers were first created to improve upon natural fibers and are categorized into two groups: regenerated and synthetic fibers. The typical manufacturing process flowchart of man-made fiber is as follows:

Man-made Fiber
Manufacture of the fiber forming polymer

Spinning (Extrusion through spinneret)

Stretching/Drawing (Improving strength and crystalinity)

Texturing/Crimping (Developing natural fiber properties)

Intermingling/Interlacing (Applied instead of twisting)

Heat setting (Made dimensionally stable)
